Standard Rooms at Holme Lacy House Hotel are special - not only good value for money but are kitted out with eveything you could wish for. Soft pillows and comfy beds and large opn plan bedrooms.
This has been our 3rd Warner hotel stay and it was well up to the high standard we have come to expect from Warners. It is a beautiful old building in extremely scenic surroundings. Very well placed to visit the lovely town of Hereford.
It was our twelfth consecutive January visit, so YES we thoroughly enjoy this hotel. It's very welcoming and in a lovely location. Our room was on ground floor , spacious with all hot drinks etc. We dined in the oak panel restaurant, we found that the heating apparently didn't start until 6.30 pm, we ate at 6 pm !!!! The food menu was varied and very good. Our waitress Lleona ? Was excellent. The quizzes and daytime entertainment was very good. The evening entertainment for the weekend was 60 s theme and excellent .David James ,the entertainment manager was his excellent professional standard. We have already booked for next year.
After working the Christmas period, we went on a much needed January break.
Great historical house and grounds. Good service from staff, good food and drink.
Day time activities which we didn't use that much, nightly entertainment, liked the Koo-ka-chop singer. Liked the fact they allocated tables for the whole of your stay.
Room was good with wine and snacks on arrival.. thanks.
On arrival at Holm Lacy Hotel we were welcomed and assisted by a friendly porter for our cases. The room attracted a reserved parking place, very useful. the room was a standard old house room that looked very pleasant, however we noticed a distinct rumbling noise in the background, this persisted through out the night so we asked if this could be addressed. We were listened to and immediately given a different room which was an upgrade, we were assisted again with our luggage. the housekeeping staff knew of the noise.
Our meals were excellent likewise the restaurant staff. the table placings were a little too close for our liking but we soon made friends with our neibours which was lovely.
The Evening entertainment was fantastic with quality performances by the resident band; entertainments team and invited performers I recommend the hotel.
We visited over the August bank holiday weekend and were blessed with fantastic weather. The grounds are beautiful and the gravel drives were still suitable for a wheelchair because the gravel wasn't too thick. Other Warner hotels haven't been as accessible but Holme Lacy was very good. We were in ground floor rooms and we didn't have too far to go to the restaurant or the entertainment. Our rooms were very comfortable (a bit hot at night because there's no aircon) although we had a bit of a problem with flying ants in the bathroom one morning. Maintenance were very prompt but we couldn't work out where they were coming from!
We thought there was a good choice of food and the young man, Elliot, who was serving us, worked his socks off the whole weekend. There appears to be fewer staff these days at Warner hotels but they all work hard.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable weekend, with the Neil Diamond tribute being the highlight.
